Bay Window November 2nd, 2011 |
|---|
Bay windows are tricky to dress. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. We hung 2 stationary panels on the outside of the bay, treating it like it was one large, flat window. Only one side is shown in the photograph. This drapery is a good example of what I see more and more clients using now - COLOR and prints. The fabric is by Kravet; the trim by Stout Textiles. The large scale print takes this from simple to stunning! | |

Here is a living room we worked on recently. It was so nice working with a palette of peach, gold and raspberry red. We took the colors from the amazing artwork that the client had. To see more pictures and get details read my blog at www.inspiration-decoration.com. | |
| Stagecoach Valance July 21st, 2011 |
|---|
Roman shades are currently one of the most popular window treatments today. However, sometimes you don't need a full-length, functioning shade - you just want the look. This is a stagecoach valance. It has the folds like a Roman shade that has been pulled up, but there are no cords, and of course it doesn't move. Saves on fabric and labor costs. This particular valance was part of a Project Room, where the homeowner turned a spare bedroom into a working space, complete with counters, workstations and storage for projects ranging from gift wrapping, crafts, and computer work to school projects. | |

Read down a little farther and you will see the room where we used the football finials for a little boy's room. This room is in the same house, and we basically did the same treatment so it would look similar from the outside of the house. This is an office though, with the walls painted a deep sage green. The French doors open out to the same balcony as the boy's room. Here the fabric is a lovely brown silk. We saved a little money by using non-custom hardware - so we could splurge on the beautiful trim that is sewn onto the vertical leading edge of each panel. The ease of use is something you cannot see -- we added a baton that is clipped to the back of each panel so you can close the drapes without touching the silk fabric. | |

| Contemporary Sheer Draperies October 6th, 2010 |
|---|
The task was to use a lovely sheer in a very contemporary dining room where privacy was sometimes needed. We lined the sheer with a taupe colored satin. The hardware is from Robert Allen and is a wenge wood rod with chrome details. It is difficult to install grommets on a sheer, so we created a solid band of the satin for the grommets. Grommets are satin nickel. | |

| A Tale of 2 Chairs August 16th, 2010 |

A typical dilemma: I hate my sofa! My suggestion: Instead of getting rid of a rather boring sofa, or paying to recover it, why not make the 2 chairs in the room the stars of the show. The first one is a real diva. We chose a velvet damask in the unusual color combination of sage green and silver blue to reupholster this chair. | |
